Dancing into the Spring!

Trifecta Dance Collective is jumping for joy because April is Chicago Dance Month! We are so excited to be participating in this celebration of Chicago’s dance community with performances, educational opportunities and other events all month long put on by See Chicago Dance.

You can first catch us teaming up with Audience Architects for an Open Rehearsal on April 10 at the Chicago Cultural Center. Come join us from 10am to 3pm we will have an open company class followed by an inside look at our works in progress for our June performance of In.Grained. This is an exciting opportunity to see what the company is up to on a day-to-day basis and get a sneak preview for our upcoming project!

Next on April 29 we will also be participating in Esoteric Dance Project’s Work-In-Progress Showcase at Dovetail Studios. From 12-2:30pm we will be joining other Chicago area companies in an informal showing. This is an opportunity for companies to present their unfinished works and receive feedback from fellow artists and audience members in order to get a sense of how the work is being perceived and where it can go!

And finally on April 30 we will be a part of the final event of the month, the Chicago Dance Month 2018 Closing Celebration and Scavenger Hunt, starting at 4:30pm the steps of the Chicago Cultural Center and progressing own Michigan Avenue, with site-specific performances along the way, and concluding with a reception at City Winery along the Riverwalk. If you’re looking for even more opportunities to see Trifecta this month, we will also be doing two performances in addition to Chicago Dance Month’s events:

We will be performing with Project606 Dance in their performance of You Are Here April 20-21 at 8pm. We will be performing some of our own work, as well as supporting fellow company members Joanna, Cayla, Kim and Felicity as they perform Project606’s new original works as well! Performance will be at the Fasseas Whitebox Theater at The Drucker Center. For tickets, go to

You can also catch us at College of Lake County’s Fear No Art Showcase, on April 27 at 7:30pm and April 28 at 2pm and 7:30pm. Company dancers Felicity Nicholson and Deek Buckins will be performing “Void” to live music played by high school student Sarah Yagelski.

Clearly, we’ve got a busy month ahead with plenty of chances for you to see what we’re up to! We hope to see you all around Chicagoland supporting Trifecta and the rest of the Chicago dance community. For more on Chicago Dance Month, check out
