community.

collaboration.

connection.

The Trifecta Dance Collective, a Chicago-based professional contemporary dance company, was founded a decade ago with a clear purpose: to represent and engage with the various communities it serves. These communities include our local neighborhood, the collaborative community of our dance collective of artists, the vibrant community of the pre-professional/youth dance sector, and the wider community of dance artists across the nation. The goal is to inspire and connect with all these diverse communities through our performances and outreach efforts.

Through their performances, TDC strives to spark empathy and understanding that transcends boundaries, uniting individuals in a shared experience. TDC revolutionizes contemporary dance by moving beyond traditional performance spaces to create environments designed for audience connection, collaboration, and growth to drive social change.

By nurturing inclusive spaces for creative expression, TDC not only showcases the extraordinary talent of their dancers but also fosters a sense of belonging and connection within their community. Through their fearless compassion and unwavering dedication, the collective demonstrates that art holds the incredible power to break down barriers, challenge perceptions, and awaken a sense of shared humanity. They inspire individuals to come together, celebrate diversity, and embrace the beauty of collective expression.

Our Geographic Community

The "In.Grained Series" by TDC is dedicated to amplifying the voices of the communities it serves, including the neighborhood in which the company is based. TDC actively seeks out underserved demographics within our towns, providing them with a platform to showcase their perspectives to the larger community. This series aims to unite communities through an artistic lens, fostering connections, promoting positive social growth, and cultivating empathy among individuals. By prioritizing performance objectives that are relatable and impactful, the series aims to reach a broader audience that may not typically engage with art or attend traditional performances.

Through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, the "In.Grained Series" brings art to unconventional spaces, ensuring that it reaches audiences that may not have access to it otherwise. By integrating artist voices into discussions about the challenges, needs, and successes of diverse demographics, the series creates a more inclusive and representative platform for artistic expression.

By actively involving the community in the creation and presentation of artistic work, the "In.Grained Series" fosters a sense of ownership and collaboration that transcends traditional audience engagement. This approach enriches the artistic process, amplifying the impact and relevance of the work being produced and nurturing a more diverse and interconnected arts ecosystem.

Our Pre-Professional Youth Dance Community

TDC is committed to uplifting and supporting the next generation of community-focused dance artists, providing pathways to success through their two youth initiatives: Metamorphosis: Fearless Evolution and the Collective Contemporary Awards.

The Metamorphosis: Fearless Evolution experience gathers students from across the nation for a weekend of non-competitive master classes and showcases designed to foster unity, collaboration, and mutual inspiration among young artists. The experiences creates a space for cultural exchange, artistic dialogue, and the sharing of ideas and experiences. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment focused on growth and development, participants are encouraged to take risks, explore new techniques, and nurture their creativity without judgment. Emphasizing community and collaboration over competition, the program cultivates a shared commitment to artistic excellence and camaraderie.

The Collective Contemporary Awards were established to honor excellence in contemporary dance within the youth sector, celebrating artistic exploration and technical integrity. The Awards recognize young artists and their mentors who are pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and showcasing innovative approaches to choreography and performance.
